I have the 40pin IDE disk-on-modules.

The PC doesn't recognise the DOM unless I contect 5V to the connector (see my earlier post). With 5V connected I can use physdiskwrite to flash the DOM.  The EON now works fine with the DOM module.

The only problem I still have is I can only get 1.3b9 to work, anything later doesn't boot. It fails at the this point

*********************************************
* FATAL ERROR
* The device that contains the configuration file (config.xml) could not be
* found. m0n0wall cannot continue booting.

I haven't found a solution to this problem.

A kernel patch has recently been added to m0n0wall (from http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/dev/pci/pci.c#rev1.343) that fixes such issues for certain Geode chipsets. It's not yet in a released image, but will be in 1.3b14, so please give that a try once it's been released.

Hi Manuel,

I downloaded 1.3B14 and can confirm it resolved the boot issue I was having with anything greater than 1.3B9.

Thanks

Colin

Hi,

I'm trying to get m0n0wall working on a Neoware Eon Preferred 4000 (Geode Processor).  I've tried both generic-pc-1.233.img and generic-pc-1.3b11.img, both fail at the same point.

To install the image, I followed the instructions listed on this site.

http://www.monkeysushi.net/writing/other/HOWTO%20Neoware%20m0n0wall.html

I did have to slightly modify things, however I  was able to wget the file and and use dd to write it to the DiskOnModule.

FreeBSD starts to boot ok, it fails at this point

md0: Preloaded image </mfsroot> 15728640 bytes at 0xc0a60160
Trying to mount root from ufs://dev/md0
kern.coredump: 1 -> 0

* found. m0n0wall cannot continue booting.

Any ideas what is causing the coredump?

I am trying to install Monowall on a Neoware EON4300S using the MonkeySushi giude. My 4300S has a 32MB DOM attached to an IDE connector.

I followed instructions for downloading monowall and am about to re-write the DOM (end of step 2).  However, the command bash# /usr/bin/wget http://hostname/path/to/m0n0wall doesn't seem right.  I don't think I downloaded anything.

What do I need to do at this point and which version of monowall should I use?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Where can I download binary (general PC image file) of 1.3b14 (or 1.3b9)?  Latest beta version 1.3b15 fails with Fatal Error below on Neoware EON4300S.  Thanks.

I am now using a CF card and IDE CF adapter in my unit.
