Will the USB port be usable? Will it cause any problems? Any issues with the VIA enet? Anyone running this yet? Which package?

Thanks.

I guess the answer is yes and no....
It depends on which OS you install. Starting from m0n0 v1.3 beta usb pen drives can be used for storing the configuration file....

Just bought an alix.2c, cf 256mb, used linux dd to write image file to cf and when booting the alix the console shows the bios and it shows the cf card but I am not seeing any boot messages or the console menu to make changes.  What am I missing? I have tried all image files thru beta.

OK problem solved.... I was using dd from ubuntu using a universal card reader (not sure if that is related) however I went to a windows machine and wrote the image using physicaldiskwrite, then placed the cf into the board, booted up just fine. Wish I knew why it didnt work with ubuntu, if anyone knows please let the forum know   Wink

sounds like you didn't uncompress the image prior to writing to the flash. Use something like this:

Code:
gunzip -c wrap-1.3b5.img | dd bs=16k of=/dev/<whatever-your-usb-drive>

I did use that exactly... just as it is written in the installation instructions.
