hi, new member here Wink

I am a fulltime snmp developer at my day job.  I just got my monowall box working and I'm already thinking of ways to remotely manage it via snmp.

is there any work being done on this?  is there a to-do or wish list for SNMP based things?  (I'm talking about the agent and giving it more stuff it can report on, possibly even some snmp SET ability to remotely change the firewall config or rule set).

I'm experienced in the net-snmp (and even ucd-snmp) code bases.  I'd really like to see net-snmp 5.x in the base as it is more secure and more supported, going forward.  is it a shun-able offense to mention that we should be at net-snmp and not at the already old in the tooth ucd-snmp? Wink

I'd also like to see some trap support added.  I don't mind doing that work, myself.

interest or comments?

/bryan

I'm definitely interested in seeing SNMP extended.

Though individual connection monitoring isn't something that should be done in SNMP, a Netflow add on would be nice for that.

Netflow support would be way cool.
