All,

I've got a m0n0 setup with 4 interfaces: LAN, WAN, Wifi, and a VLAN. Wifi and the VLAN are bridged, and I want to run captive portal on the LAN (not part of any bridge), but CP complains that it can't be run on bridged interfaces. What can I do?

I should say I'm running 1.3b5

Thanks,
Chris

We have the same problem; WAN and DMZ bridged and like to set up a WLAN interface with cp. Running m0n0wall 1.234 generic-pc.

Is there any news about this issue?

Captive Portal has to be able to intercept the machines and present the login screen, so if they are bridged, they would technically just bypass the screen. That might be why CP won't let you set it that way. CP can only run on one interface *currently*, and having them bridged is like having it setup on two interfaces, even though yes, it's bridged as one.

Since migrating to if_bridge there is no need for that check. since we could run CP on the Bridge Interface it self.

Regards,
Mohammed Ismail.
i did some work in the image after asking in the mailing list i was told to remove the CP check for Bridge. i modified the image and i was able to bridge interfaces with  LAN and have CP working on the Bridge interface it self. working fine with no problems at all.
hope to remove the bridge check from CP page and so from assign interfaces too. as long as it checks there if CP is running or not before bridging 2 interfaces together.

regards.
Mohammed.
