Guys I'm trying to decide what hardware I should go with for monowall I have 2 systems that I can use. I have a p3 500 with 384 megs of ram installed I can bump that to 512 I'm using all intel pro 100 nics. The second system is a p3 1 gigahertz with 512 ram. I would like to setup a few site to site vpn connections no more than 3 I know ipsec can be resource intensive so I would like to ask can the p3 500 handle 3 ipsec tunnels also my internet connection 10 meg. I prefer to use the 500 because the 500 is a lot more quieter than the 1gigahertz.

Hello,
I want to create a site to site connection with a couple of wrap or alix boxes. Does it works fine?
Thanks.
Vandart.

Both of these questions depend a lot on your internet speed. Assuming you have consumer grade internet, or just a T1, you will fill the pipe long before you fill the box. If you have an OC3, you might need more hardware.
