I was just wondering if anyone has used an internal PCI ADSL modem with monowall, any pointers or tips?

I found a Sangoma S518 ADSL PCI 2.2 card and according to their web site, they have FreeBSD and OpenBSD drivers for it, however the kernel needs to be rebuilt for PPP or something, I'm pretty green to kernel rebuilds, but it sounds like it can be done unless I'm totally missing something. Would have to be worried about how secure it would be after the rebuild though?

according to freebsd hcl there is no adsl modem supported
i don't see big benefits using pci modem
(adsl modems are cheap, Vs. E1/T1 equipment)
get a development  version of m0n0 and try the drivers from sangoma

I wanted to use an internal DSL modem becuase that would eliminate a router hop and processing becuase I have the monowall behind the modem which seems to lock up and get progressively slower as its up time increases. That is my reasoning for wanting it internal to the monowall. But I may give this a shot if I can find time to try it. Thanks.
