I have m0n0wall setup as a captive portal between a wireless access point and the internet. This is all done without any authentication. First time users are redirected to the captive portal and click a button to get access.

I am looking for a way to disconnect a client every couple hours and keep them from signing back in until the next day. I can set a hard timeout of 60 minutes, and they will be disconnected. But, they can just sign right back in. Is there a way to keep them from signing back in until the next day, or a least make them wait an hour before they can get back in?

Thanks

Won't the scheduled expiration (of user account) accomplish this?

Are you talking about user accounts on a radius server? I'm a little lost on what you are talking about.

Yes it's possible, but you'll need a radius server, there is a few options.

1. phpradmin ( Live cd )
2. Freeradius with dialupadmin and ( phpmyprepaid - For timed accounts )
3. Microsoft IAS

Now the option your looking for in th free radius is Max-Daily-Session  = xxxx , where xxxx is time in seconds /day.

Have fun....!

Awesome.

I was hoping to not have user logins. But, I doubt there is a way to do this without user logins sense everything is based of a user name.
