Not a question, but a recommendation.  A recent change by our companies ISP meant that the PPPoE pass through allowing Monowall to get the external IP stopped working.  We purchased a Draytek Vigor 100 which is a proper Ethernet DSL modem with PPPoE to PPPoA conversion.  Works a treat. 2 minutes to change the default IP and password, plug it in and it just works, no messing.  Also worth looking at this page on the Wiki to allow you to access the status screen of the Vigor 100 with the PPPoE up.
