Hi

I was using before the pfsense - there it was possible to create a ssl key for the webGUI. How do you guys create a ssl key for the box?
The things i found via google were not really working or helpful as i am using XP64 and not any kind of Unix - for Unix were some tools that i could not test.

I do mine from Linux machines. But you can make them with anything that has the SSL package. Have a look at openSSL for Windows here:

http://www.openssl.org/related/binaries.html

I guess you already know how to make the cert and key. If not scroll to the end of this page:

Is there some reason you can't just use the Windows openssl binaries directly?

Your other option is to have someone make the key and cert for you and email the files.

hm, i am probably too stupid for the openSSL ... in the programfolder was  no openssl.exe that could execute the described string in the doc's
i quickly launched a pfSense in VmWare and made the SSL + RSA there.. works great now!

thanks for all suggestions!  Wink
