Hi

I’ve working with the soekris firewall.  I’m using the OPT1 3rd interface bridged to the wan interface.  Everything is working well but I can’t seem to RDP to a station on the OPT1 interface, unless I open the wan interface (any to any).  If I have only port 3389 open I can’t get through.

Any ideas?  There must be another port I need to open

From where? WAN? LAN? Another OPT?

You'll need a rule permitting it on the WAN interface. Are you seeing it getting dropped in the firewall log?

Yes in the firewall log I see the ip that is trying to connect.  It is trying to connect on three ports that seem to random in eg. 60457-60600 range.  When I open those ports I can connect via rdp.  I've played around with the nat rules but I can't make it work.
Thanks

what's the rule you are using to permit this traffic?

You won't need any NAT configuration, only filtering is done over bridged interfaces.

It's working now.  I didn't set up the bridge correctly.  It turns out it's in the manual.... agggh.  Configuring a filtered bridge 14.3 - RTFM eh.  Sorry  Embarrassed
