First - thanks to everyone who has helped develop Monowall - it Rocks!
I've got 2 working monowall firewalls based on the older PC Engines WRAP (3 ether) boards running 1.233 - running very well and 100% rock solid.
Just recently got a 3-ethernet port ALIX board to replace one of the WRAP boards (because I'd like the user interface to run a lot faster and my rulesets keep increasing). The new ALIX board is running 1.3b10 and I notice, that as soon as it is powered on, the right hand side ethernet (RHS) LEDs light up on all 3 ethernet interfaces. Even if no connectors are plugged into the ethernet ports. Is this normal?
Ques 2: after importing the same config that is running reliably on the WRAP (version 1.233) the ALIX based unit will go dead after running normally for about 10 minutes. Anyone else seen this? Is it possible I've got a bad ALIX board?
Ques 3: What voltage are monowall users running their ALIX board at? The reason I ask is that I have a lab grade power supply where I can set the voltage and I want to run the older WRAPs and the one newer ALIX off the same power supply. I was running the WRAP at 12 volts - but decided to set it to 16 volts in order to run both the WRAP and the ALIX boxes off the same power supply. There is no issue with the power supply being able to supply enough current BTW.
Thanks in advance.
