I have been following this http://www.ls-net.com/m0n0wall-watchguard/
 project to change a watchguard  firebox 2 into
a m0n0wall b ox. The motherboard I use is slightly different to the in the page that link goes to and is more like this guys

  I am using a 20 gig HD on a 44 to 40 pin ide connector like him - but cant get monowall to boot off the drive.  I have tried loads of stuff

Any suggestions or help very much appreciated

Hahahaha ! just when I had given up trying and thought I would set the jumper to the clear defaults position and leave it there - limit the number of drive cylinders to 4092 - and set both master drive and slave to user configured

TRIED IT
and whadda you know - 14 hours of trying to get that thing working and the very last attempt I was going to make - it worked - runs like a dream too -
its fast and efficient
