whenever I switch off my m0n0wall/firebox, at the next boot the bios reads 01/01/1998 with a time of 00.00.00. I know this can indicate a faulty battery but I have tried several - all of which I know are working. I run the webgui in windows and I think the webgui is showing the time on my windows box. Can someone tell me if having the wrong time on the firebox will cause any problems with passthrough vpn connections or any other kind of port forwarding?

Also what other possibilities besides a faulty battery on the bios would cause such behaviour. First time for about 20 years I have ever seen a computer with a bios that wouldnt stay set.
