Installation

I'm getting garbage characters in my terminal (screenshot here) after m0n0 starts booting, any advice? Here are the steps I've taken to get here:

1. I installed 1.3b11 on a Sandisk 512MB CF card using physdiskwrite on XP.

2. I pop the card into a new Soekris net5501 running the latest firmware, 1.33.

3. I connect the serial and start a Hyperterminal session.

4. The FreeBSD bootstrap loader begins, but soon produces a few garbage characters and nothing further happens.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks much!

the net5501's default baud rate is 19200.  m0n0wall's default baud rate is 9600.  to make them both 9600, enter the Soekris comBIOS monitor with Ctrl-P then type:

set ConSpeed=9600

Worked like a charm, I was following the m0n0/Soekris quickstart guide but it didn't mention anything having to change the bit rate of the device.
