The mobile/cellular providers are gearing up their efforts to provide internet connections over 3G.

But to use this as the main (or fallback) connection at home or in an office (right now I am living in a small village in Brazil) is not easy as you have to use a computer as the gateway. I am searching for an easier option that uses less power. A firewall based on M0n0wall with support for the 3G modem (USB) would be perfect.

I do not know how many suppliers there are for these modems (not counting rebranded models tied to a special provider), but adding support for the biggest names would be a good beginning.

Tried searching in the forum here, but got no hits on 3G.
