Topic: Time-based rules?  (Read 2321 times)

I have an internet service at home which is download-metered between 9am and 6pm - so I'd like to use m0n0wall to heavily restrict traffic (drop everything except for data from certain ports on certain IP addresses) during these times.

(I current have an Intertex IX66 ADSL router which does this - but I'd like to switch this into bridge mode and make the m0n0wall the gateway)

I'm thinking of buying an ALIX system to run m0n0wall upon, so I'd be looking at running a version no earlier than 1.3beta.

Does the m0n0wall beta have the facility for time-based rules (or time-based traffic shaping, or even time-based profiles with different rules?)

Cheers,

Stuart

Thanks for that, Fred.

Should I read that wish list as "things to do before 1.3 leaves beta" or "things we'd like to do one day, but aren't going to happen any time soon"?

I think the To do list is stuff that might be a strong goal to get done as part of the current build.

I read the wishlist as a place where things that have been asked for repeatedly are listed, maybe to cut down on the number of repeat requests.

How many of these wished for things float up to the To do list or how that happens if it does, are unknown to me. But if it's on the list, there is always hope.
