Hello everyone

I have just got my Soekris/Monowall box up and running on the LAN side, but there seems to be trouble getting an IP from my ISP(DSL connection). There is no problem getting an IP if i connect my PC directly to the modem, but when i connect it to my WAN port on the Soekris box there is nothing...
Is there any changes that has to be made to the setup of Monowall when connected through an DSL modem?

My setup is as follows:

Eth0 = LAN (with DHCP enabled)
Eth2 = WAN (With DHCP enabled and my ISP's DNS servers added to the "General Setup" page)

Is it really a modem/bridge or a router?
Does the ISP use PPPoE or PPTP or DHCP?
What the the log say?
Try power cycling the DSL modem.

Are you sure your ADSL modem is in bridged mode? I may be wrong but I think it needs to be, at least that's the way mine has been configured for years.

If not, I think you need to set up some rules on it to work together with m0n0wall. (Your ADSL modem might be a firewall.)

If your DSL modem is bridged, you'll likely need to use PPPoE rather than DHCP. If you're just using DHCP on your PC, try power cycling your DSL modem, sometimes they don't like to connect new devices without doing so.
