I'm very new to m0n0wall and will soon be moving into an apartement with a 100/100-connection (yay!). Rather than spending like $150 on a router that'll manage around 80-90mbps throughput I'd like to set up an older computer with m0n0wall.

I've managed to get my hands on a setup (freebie) consisting by a Matsonic MS7308ET (s370 mATX) with 128MB SDRAM and a Celeron-II 1GHz. This system is actually totally unused and has been lying in a paper box since production year (2002).

Now, as I'd like to max out my connection in both directions 24/7 I'm a bit curious if my hardware will manage a throughput that high with m0n0wall. I'm mostly worried about the CPU scince I'm having a bit of trouble getting hold of a more powerful PIII s370 (I live in Sweden).

Thanks in advance!

Cpu load depends a lot on the network card, bad chipsets (realtek) load the cpu a lot.
I guess it could be possible with a couple of Intel GigaEthernet cards. My guess is based on the fact a simple 433mhz amd cpu inside my alix is able to push in excess of 50mbit without an issue.
