It's next to impossible that the CD's "Install to HD" feature would try to install on a floppy disk, as that has an entirely different device name (and you get to choose the target device anyway). However, it will try to read the configuration from the floppy so that it can copy it over to the HD, so you'll need to have a floppy (or USB stick) in place when you boot from CD.
