Hi there

I have the problem, that my monowall is obviously not running full-duplex on the LAN interface.. i see this because it has collisions (full-duplex has rx/tx on different wires - so it's not possible there)

i searched this forum and saw a post where greg recommends to set in the config (xml) the mediaopt full-duplex.. but that does not work.. oddly enough that it does on the WAN as i set it there (same type of cables on WAN/LAN)

      <lan>
         <if>vr0</if>
         <ipaddr>192.168.1.1</ipaddr>
         <subnet>24</subnet>
         <media/>
         <mediaopt>full-duplex</mediaopt>
      </lan>

does anybody know how to set the LAN interface to a media-type that nowadays is simply standard? i would be really glad ;-)

Just curious, what is your m0n0wall connected to (switch/hub)?
What hardware is your m0n0wall running on?

hi  Smiley

im running my monowall on an ALIX 2c0 (WRAP)

the monowall is on the  LAN interface directly connected to the PC (Intel NIC - set fix to full/100)

.. i meanwhile found out that if i fix the .xml config for the monowall and set the NIC to auto - it does work.. but as i set the NIC to full-100 it did not work out, resulted in collisions (half-100) ..  but i guess this is not monowall related, rather it is ALIX Bios Related someway ;-)

strange was too, that every now and then i had to reset the monowall too when i did reboot the PC - no connection, LAN was not pingable

nevermind.. WAN and LAN are now running fine in full-100 mode
