Hello all, I am currently trying to compile something for my sister on the cheap.  I have a puter, stats not important, but the setup itself is what has me curious.  She has internet through alltel with a Huawei EC228 data card which is in essence a usb modem.  Now they own three laptops so a lan card isn't even required.  I am looking at GN-WP01GS by gigabyte for the wireless card in m0n0wall, which http://ralink.rapla.net/ says is supported.  I am also looking at using a CF drive (512MB) instead of a hard drive to keep power consumption and noise down.

So in a nutshell the 1.9Ghz EVDO will be picked through the usb modem then into m0n0wall from there changed to 2.4Ghz and broadcasted through the house.  The dialing in of the usb modem to the network I am really hoping can be done through a script through m0n0wall off the CF.  Can this be done?

Sorry didn't see an edit button....so the reason for the second post.

I hope I didn't make it to complicated of a question, basically I am asking two questions.

The most important being does m0n0wall support a usb modem, couldn't find any straight forward answer on the site, forum, or google.  I would like just a simple yes or no.  Of course if it's yes, but......then by all means fill me in Smiley

The second is can m0n0wall support scripts, if not I can squeeze a linux distro on the usb drive and have it handle the dialing in of the modem.

Thanks ahead of time.

Monowall doesn't support USB modems.  Before I used monoall I used Smoothwall which does support USB modems.  You could give that a try.
