hey guys,

looking forward to setup a m0n0wall or pfsense firewall.

I need at least 3 physical gigabit lan ports on the device, I don't want to use vlans.

the appliance needs to run energy efficient and I'd prefer to buy separate hardware rather than buying a complete appliance.

want to put the whole thing a 19" 1U case... but I'm not sure about the other components (mainboard, cpu, psu, nic)

I want to boot m0n0 or pf from compact flash card if possible so no hdd is needed

any suggestions?

thanks for your help and keep up the good work :-)

I finally found this board on the net:

http://www.roc-noc.com/product.php?productid=103&cat=5&page=1

will it run with m0n0wall and pfsense? I can't find the info I need on the freebsd website.

I'd appreciate your help.

M0n0 is only supported on x86 hw. The board you linked to is PowerPC.

thanks for your reply frodo.

that's exactly what got me confused because there's this page:

http://www.freebsd.org/relnotes/6-STABLE/hardware/powerpc/index.html

 Huh

so I suggest m0n0wall is based von x86 version of freebsd only?

Freebsd is available on other hw but m0n0 is not ported to anything but x86.

I guess it is a matter of resources. If anyone fancy todo it I guess they can do it but so far no support.
