I've been running the generic PC version 1.23b1 for some time but decided to upgraded to 1.3b15 a couple of days ago. I'm now having some problems with this version which makes me want to downgrade it  to 1.23b1 again. I have only made some changes to the VPN:PPTP:Users part where I added a larger IP-net and assigned users new specific IP-adresses. How should I do the downgrade? Do I have to make a new installation on the HD using physdiskwrite and then add the backup from the old 1.23b1 again or is it safe to just make an upgrade on the web-GUI using the old img-file?

Thanks

It may be safe to just use the firmware update to downgrade, that always used to be the case. If you're using new features, you may end up with unpredictable results that way.

I suggest backing up your 1.3 config, downgrade to 1.2x using the firmware update, and see what happens.  It may very well work fine, just ignore any new functionality in your config. Worst case, reinstall with 1.2x and then restore your old config backup from 1.2x.
