Hello,
I'm wondering what the best hardware is for m0n0wall, the most reliable, stable, eaiest to install, and of course, cost effective(but not the most important)

I've been looking at the soekris boards, If they are the best option, which one is suggested.  wireless is not needed.  Only a basic unit that will do the job.

thanks for the help

I use net5501 for all my commercial customers and have had zero problems with any of them.  I also install a VPN1411 VPN Board in every one I deploy.

Part No.     -  Description
10550170  -  net5501-70 Board and 1 Slot Case
15141100  -  VPN1411 VPN Board

The PC Engines Alix is also a very nice embedded box. They are less expensive, but lack the fourth nic and the PCI slot. I wouldn't think you would need the VPN1411 unless you needed some fairly serious VPN throughput. (10Mbits+/sec, as a rough guess)
