Hi Guys,

Error message from WebGui:
Warning: fopen(/cf/conf/config.xml): failed to open stream: Input/output error in /etc/inc/config.inc on line 443 Unable to open config.xml for writing in write_config()

Error message from console:

ad0a: hard error writing fsbn 896 of 448-449 (ad0 bn 896; cn 0 tn 14 sn 14) status=51 error=10

I have no extra 2.5" hard disk to try, can somebody let me know is it possible a bad harddisk ? or any instruction I can follow to isolate the issue, thanks advanced.

Almost certainly a bad drive, or cable, or something. That's been a hardware issue every time I've seen it and every other person I've seen get it on the list in the past.

I'm not familiar with the Intrusion boxes...but is there any chance you could boot of off USB?

Maybe even a little CF?  I'm guessing with the way you mentioned it, it doesn't have a CD-ROM drive....

cmb is most likely right, sounds like a bad drive to me too.

just to be sure though, check the bios settings and make sure m0n0wall won't find a conflict.
