I just got a new Soekris 5501-70 and I can't seem to get DHCP to work on the WAN interface. I'm connecting it to a private network (192.168.2.xxx), but it always gets the ip 0.0.0.0. I've generic-pc-1.235, generic-pc-1.3b15, and embedded-1.3b15, but they all do the same thing. (I'm using SanDisk CF.)

In all three cases, I've gone into the console and set the interfaces. I also went into the web interface and unchecked 'block private networks' from the WAN interface page.

My cables appear to be good as I can connect it to my computer and pull an IP just fine. Any ideas?

Just a test, change the MAC address of m0n0wall WAN to the same one that your computer uses (the known good test in this issue).  Just to rule out the DHCP not giving you an IP due to any MAC restrictions.

Looks like that's what it was. I tried with a different computer and found it kinda strange I could make any new DHCP leases. Must have a full address pool. Someone needs a beating.

Many thanks!
