Being able to automatically assign a WINS or multiple WINS servers to PPTP clients (as a few other PPTP implementations do including Cisco and Microsoft RAS) would be awesome. This feature would make it possible for PPTP clients to resolve windows network hosts and shares by DNS name without having to use a FQDN on networks that have internal DNS setup or by IP alone for networks that do not.

Currently the work around is to manually assign a WINS server to the PPTP connection on the client side but this seems very cumbersome for most situations, especially with networks where you may need to change the WINS server IP / have a large number of remote users / frequently replace traveling laptops.

Is this a feature that would be difficult to implement due to the current software packages in use or is this something that is feasible with the packages that m0n0wall currently uses?

Do it 'cause I love it!

I would also like to see this feature added.
