Hey All,
I have been working on setting up two different moblie connections.  Both of the sites have DHCP ADSL connections.  I am trying to setup remote VPN connections.  We are trying remote support for these two sites.

They will also need access to my FreeNAS server.  I can get them connected via the moblie client side of IPSEC.  I have tried serveral different client applications.  Can anyone please point me to either a sample client configuration and server side.

Why not just setup site-site VPN instead of client-server?  If these are remote sites, why generate many VPN connections when you only need one?

If you want to setup site to site see the documentation on for that, the latest version can be found on my site:  http://www.netassassin.com/m0n0wall/m0n0wall%20and%20IPSEC.pdf.   If you really want client to server, you might want to start with PPTP as it is easier to setup.  The best client I have found for the IPSEC is SSH's VPN client.  I don't even know if you can still find it for download though as I think they ended support for the product.  Someone else might have one that works well too.

I really like to find a mobile client that I could use  Wink.  It is important to be able to M0n0Wall like it was designed.  I don't like trying to build mobile connections with static IPSEC connections.

I would like to find a more secure solution that uses a mobile VPN application.  I am trying to find a open source client that has been designed to work with the open source VPN products.

I was a total MS solution provider.  I now see the light of open source unix and Linux solutions.  I now have 2 xp workstations and more linux / open source products installed Grin

I hope build a Linux/Open Souce vpn network for a customer with 30 plus sites and 30 to 60 virtual clients.  I am trying to do proof of concept now so I can do a demo in the near future.  This is a huge project I hope the forum can provide some insite.

What industry is this customer in?

I haven't yet played with many of the VPN options in m0n0wall, but my first thoughts for you are:
1. Between each site with more than 3-4 computers, you should have some sort of VPN endpoint. either another m0n0wall or netscreen or those blue boxes that I used to have at my work (I can't remember the name).
2. Only people with mobile VPN connections should be out of office users.

I did this with a PIX501 though, so I'm not sure about how the m0n0wall will deal with this.

Call me baby.

I'm running m0n0wall, on an old Pentium II machine.

I have three now 4 personal (home based) customers and 4 business customers that I support.  I need to be able to connect to the home based customers that have roaming ip address on their workstation via their provider.

I even have two customers that have roaming ip's on their internet connections that I would like to convert to roaming clients even from a DSL connection.
