Hi,
I use M0n0wall for years now and am very satisfied with it.
I began with 1.2b3 and 1.2b7 this worked like a dream for years.

Now I wanted to upgrade to 1.235.

After booting I assign interfaces (option 1)  rl0 for LAN and rl1 for WAN, and restart m0n0wall. (same interfaces as in V 1.2b7)
Then I set the LAN ip address (option 2)  192.168.0.1 for the console.
enable DHCP and set the range to   192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.150

Then I can access the console (192.168.0.1) with the std user and password.

Then I enter these settings.
            - 2 dns ip numbers ( 3 possible in v1.235)
            - I spoof the mac adress (the same and correct mac address as in V1.2b3 and v1.2b7)
            - change the std username and password

So I use exactly the same setting, but I can't access internet with V1.235. (I also tried V1.3b15)
I briefly see 'DNS ERROR' in left bottom corner of internet explorer 7.

Any ideas what i'm missing ??
I will not be surprissed if it's something very simpel Smiley

THX in advance !!

I forgot to write that I use CD with config files on Floppy disk

Did you turn on DNS forwarder? (services:dns forwarder)
When you do an 'ipconfig /all' command in windows, do you have an entry for DNS server? It should be the same as your gateway, but it might not be anything until you turn on DNS forwarding.

Hope this helps.

DNS servers are passed to the clients if DNS forwarder is off.

Check first to see if your ISP DNS servers are coming in to your clients. If so, use the m0n0wall ping utility to see if m0n0wall itself can ping google or yahoo. If m0n0wall can, your clients should to provided nothing is being blocked and they are getting the right dns servers.
