Hello All,

I am natting an external address to an interal address for my email server and it seems to work but I am having a problem. On outbound connections, I need to email server to show its actual external IP address instead of the main IP address on my router. How can I do that on monowall. Here is what I am trying to do:

Main router address 72.X.X.194

Nated IP for Email:   72.X.X.197  ->  192.168.1.100

If i go to, www.whatismyip.com from the Email box, it shows me 72.X.X.194, which is the main router interface IP. I need it to show me 72.X.X.197. I think this is causing issues for me with reverse DNS to the email server. There are people server that are now allowing me to relay mail to them because the reverse IP is wrong.

HELP!!! How can i fix this.

Thanks!

You will need to add the Ip address for the email server to the WAN interface using ProxyARP and then add a 1:1 NAT for the internal address to the desired external address.

A question because I am in the same situation:
I have the ProxyARP in place and I had the idea that I had to do the 1:1 NAT on the LAN interface, but that does not appear in the list.
So it is correct that I do the 1:1 on the WAN interface?

I run m0n0wall 1.235 (at the moment)
