Feature Requests

A TFTP server would be great. Not for storing large files, but for storing things like Switch configs, IP VoIP phone configs etc....

This would allow for very seamless operation on some more complex network setups. An example of this would be configuring a cisco switch to grab the mac2vlan table of monowall via tftp. Thus allowing dynamic vlanning on the switch.

Also, using L7 shaping would drastically reduce the size of the traffic shapping table. At the moment its all port based and as such, every port needs to be defined. Using L7 shaping should allow just specifiying the L7-protocol and make classification easy.

I'm also looking for  the TFTP server feature, so that I only need one computer for the firewall & TFTP + one computer for the NAS (freeNAS) to be able to PXE -boot. The server could ofcourse also be implemented in freeNAS and I will make a request there aswell :-)

I support this all the way!!! TFTP and L7 would be sooo much easier!

By hand editing the config file you can use the dhcp server to point clients to a tftp server. m0n0wall isn't the right place for file storage in my opinion.

L7 shaping and load balancing is a good idea, I would be pleased with something like that.
