Hi there,

I want to configure my m0n0wall appliance (runs on an ESX Server) as a dual stack IPv4/IPv6 firewall (IPv4 works).
I got a /48 Range from my ISP. The router address is 2001:xxxx:yyyy::1/48.

So I set for the LAN interface the address 2001:xxxx:yyyy::3 and for the WAN interface 2001:xxxx:yyyy::2 with the router address as gateway. But I can't ping the gateway on the WAN interface, and also I can't ping the WAN interface from the LAN interface. So I tried to set a /64 subnet on the LAN interface, but no success. I had allowed any protocols from any source to any destination in the IPv6 firewall rules.

If I tried it with a BackTrack VM on the ESX WAN interface, I had no problem to ping the router.

Can someone give me a hint how to solve my problem?

Are you trying to assign both the LAN and WAN interfaces to be in the same network? If so, that will not work.
