Case 1
This is a Acer Machine, AMD Phenom Quad Core 64bit 3GB-ram
The install was made into a Seagate HD IDE 3.4GB
Monowall start but stop with this message:

Panic   pmap-mapdev
cannot alloc kernel virtual memory
will restart in 15sec

--------------
Case 2
In other 5 years old machine, another hd, can see this error:
ACPIOSDERIVEPciId unable to initialize pci bus.

-------------------
Case 3
Another hd into same Acer pc. This is the error message

elf32_loadimage: read failed cant load file '/kernel': input/output error

OK  (the machie stop, don go away)
---------------------------------------------------------

What do you think. Same hd work fine in a old Compaq Evo machine (7 year old) Pentium 4, 128MB ram)

in case 1, what is the line before the Panic ?

in case 2 , try disable ACPI in the bios or other power management.

In case 3: Elf32_loadimage error
This error appear when image is writed to hd across USB-to-IDE- converter.
If reinstall the image by attaching the hd into IDE internal bus, monowall will start fine.
