Any plans to compile a 64-bit kernel into a mono supported version, beta or otherwise? Are there any unsupported images out there that do this?

Nothing existing, nor likely in the near future. It would have to be based on the same OS as the 1.3 versions, which aren't seeing much activity right now with Manuel working on the next generation "m0n0core" development.

Last posted on this was several years ago. So is there any plans to have a 64 bit version of m0n0wall in the near future?

What are you looking to gain out or it?

The main benefit would be more native memory addressing, but m0n0wall doesn't scale up to really take advantage of large amounts of memory anyway.  I wouldn't imagine there's much harware that only has 64 bit drivers, and not 32bit drivers.

Good question. I thought 64bit would help with performance but obviously I was wrong.

Actually i think that theoretically using 64bit addressing in environment that doesn't utilize more than  2^32 address space [for example 4GB of RAM] causes slight degradation of performances compared to a 32bit one.

if you build the image on a 64bit freebsd system, you will have a 64bit image ....

there are ACPI differences between 32 and 64 bit versions that might be important to someone ...
