Dear all,

i know that this is normaly a very very easy task, but somhow it is not working:

I want to use and configure passiv FTP.

Inbound NAT:
Forward pot 20+21
forward port 10500 - 10599
(i direktly auto add also a Firewall Rule)

I have configured the passiv settings in the FIlezilla server to use the same Portrange form 10500 - 10599.
Because i am using Dyndns i tried the "default IP" setting and also the "use the following IP" with my dynamic host address.

When i try to connect via IE i get the prompt for username and password, but after thet i see no list and the IE shows that there is no page.
The Filezilla log shows only that the User is connected and everything is fine.

When i use FileZilla Client, everything is working fine. Altough the Server log is showing that the the Client is using passiv mode.

Does anyone has an idea what to change? With IPcop it was working without any problem.

Thanks for your ideas and help

make sure IE is set to use Passive not Active.  when it comes to FTP, IE 6 worked worked great but 7 & 8 really suck.  I would stick with the FileZilla client and forget IE.  also, you don't need to NAT port 20.  that's only outbound.  also, you might want to use a smaller port range unless you really have that many concurrent users.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
The funny thing about the port 20 is, that wenn delet port 20 i am not able anymore to get a connection to my ftp server.

The IE was only an example for an passiv ftp client. When i use an ftp client from my mobile phone or somebody else is using the filezilla in default configuration, he is not able to connect to my ftp server

can you post your LAN, WAN and NAT rules?  a network diagram would also be helpful.
