The announcement states:
"make motherboard monitor off by default, and switchable in advanced/misc"
On generic-pc-1.32.img this does not seem to be the case (luckily). It is unclear if the announcement was for no-graphics boards ('embedded', e.g. Soekris) only?
Here I get the 'm0n0wall console setup' on the monitor connected to the internal VGA adapter.
(There is no serial console, but that should go as a different bug, I guess, if it isn't related?)

"motherboard monitor" refers to the hardware monitor feature (temperatures, fan speeds etc.), not to VGA output.

Thanks for the update. Since the Soekris image has no further monitor display after the initial kernel load, I had misread this to be the monitor connected to the motherboard.

Another one solved.
