Hi

I have a new Soekris net5501 box and a Ultra SanDisk CompactFlash 4 Gb memory. When I try to use Hyperterminal to activate/configure which LAN devices I what to use but Hypertermail only reply this output:
üüþŽíènvÎ i‰û‰ú‰ú‰úOIOOOIIIOOOOOIIOIOOOOIIOIIIIOOIIOIOOOOIIOOIOI
Hyperterminal properties are (as recommended) 9600 8-N-1. All other setting are default (as far as I know). I have tried several pc and several images (emb 1.31 and emb 1.32). Please advice.

This area is for reporting Bugs not hardware/user problems.

Sounds like the Soekris serial port is set to a different speed than your Hyperterminal.  I think the default hardware baud rate for the net5501 is 19200.  Also, even without a CF installed, you should see some Soekris BIOS information displayed.
