I tried to upgrade my Soekris 4501 a couple months ago to embedded-1.32 and wound up with something that didn't work at all.

When I boot with that image loaded, the serial console shows the Soekris "BIOS" messages then you just get a "Read error" message when it would start booting off the CF.

After pondering it for a month I finally thought to download the last net45xx-specific image (1.236) from the m0n0wall site and loaded the image to the CF. It loads up fine.

So I'm much less annoyed, because I can (finally) get my device working again, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how I could actually use the current version?

If it matters, the CF in question is a Kingston CF/64 with a mostly black & white label with an n orange stripe. On the back are:

CF/64
9930248-001.A.00
P679212x1
ASSY IN JAPAN

and a 2002 copyright.

If i recall correctly, physdiskwrite claimed it was a Toshiba.
