Hi,

I probably have a really easy question to ask. I'm having problem accessing mailserver from inside (LAN)
where also the mailserver is located (unless I point directly to the server).

mail.abc.com points to the monowall and port xxx is pointing at the mailserver 192.168.x.y (works fine).

When using a laptop, I would like to use the same setting in mailclient, if I'm outside, as well as inside the net.
It should be possible to have mail.abc.com specified in settings and make it work on both sides!

Please assist or give some hints (I've tried for some time now to find a solution, without success).

/Best Regards

From the bottom of the Firewall: NAT: Inbound page:

"Note:
It is not possible to access NATed services using the WAN IP address from within LAN (or an optional network)."

One workaround is to enable the DNS Forwarder in m0n0wall, and set mail.abc.com = 192.168.x.y there. For this to work, you will have to have the client LAN PC(s) use the monowall IP for its DNS server.
