My apologies if this has already been addressed.  I searched for it but found nothing.

Under DNS forwarder, I have "Register DHCP leases in DNS forwarder" checked.  I have most of my machines set to "static" dynamic addresses under DHCP server.  When i try to ping one of these machines by hostname, it doesn't resolve.  When I "nslookup" it, I get some arbitrary IP address that isn't right.  Am I missing something or am I misunderstanding what the "Register DHCP leases in DNS forwarder" options means?

With a static assignment, you also need a entry in the dns forwarder.  The "Register DHCP leases in DNS forwarder" option only works with open dhcp.

That or adding static IP and manual DNS A entry in the forwarder.
