hi all
i have here a " red big", i mean i have here a firewall box with installed open-bsd 3.9.
now i want update this box with monowall, but i dont know, if the hardware will be ok, maybe someone can give me answer about that question.
my hardware is:
geode cpu with 267 Mhz
128 MB Ram
512MB Flashdisk

what did the profi say do this hardware? can i install on this box also a monowall?

You've got plenty of RAM, but your CPU might not be enough depending on your environment.  If you do a lot of VPN or high-throughput activity, you could max out your CPU pretty quick.  If you have a small environment with a small internet connection you should be fine.

hmm, that is a very small company ( 3 peoples), and only a 8mbit adsl, and no vpn, only some portforwardings for the SBS 2008 Server, so you think than it can be fine? cool, than i will test it, and look if it works Smiley

It should be ok for up to 10mbit connection. I used 600mhz celeron when i was using my 60mbit lan connection and it was enough for apache server, ftp server and few other things lying in the network Smiley

hi all

i have installed it know perfectly on this litte box. with 2 vpn i have a cpu from under 10% and RAM i need 21%, it works great, it is the best fw i have seen!
