Hello,

We have attempted to install m0n0wall on a machine that has no IDE/SATA CD-ROM, using a USB CD-ROM attached.

The system boots into m0n0wall just fine, however when attempting to install from the menu, the screen flashes very quickly and the system reboots.

I was able to pause the screen long enough to see that the error was CD-ROM Not Found.

Can anyone provide a work-around or steps to create an installer on a USB Flash drive?

Many thanks!

install m0n0wall on another PC then move the drive to the final m0n0wall PC.

Thanks for the responses.

If I use physdiskwrite ... can I do that from a shell when booting from the CD? Or would I need to do it another way?

Is m0n0wall not like other OS's that install specifics based on the chipset/hardware? I'd be concerned that something wouldn't work right if I installed using another PC.
