Topic: 802.11n support? Does m0n0wall support it, and are there any recommendations?  (Read 4431 times)

I've got a m0n0wall running on an slightly older PC and am starting to find 802.11g a bit too slow for my needs (having to connect to the LAN in order to transfer files in excess of 50-100mb). I can't seem to find much in the way of indicating whether or not m0n0wall supports any 802.11n cards - I'm beginning to think it doesn't.. can anyone confirm?

If it does support it, is there a list of supported cards anywhere? Can anyone recommend any PCI 802.11n cards?

Thanks!

I'm no expert, but from some quick Google searches it looks like FreeBSD (what m0n0wall is based on) is still working on Wireless N support in their latest version, 8.  M0n0wall is currently based on the older release 6.  A new version of m0n0wall based on FreeBSD 8 is in the works but it will be quite some time yet.  Once that is done there should be at least some support for Wireless N.

Maybe the simplest and fastest solution would be to buy 802.11n AP and 802.3 NIC and then configure the router and AP.
