Hello!
I'm running m0n0 v. 1.33 on an ALIX board and I'm looking for a trouble shooting guide for IPv6.

The SIXXS tunnel with AICCU config, was up with an earlier version of m0n0, but now it doesn't work anymore.

I can ping6 the LAN and WAN I/F of my m0n0wall from a client on the LAN, but not the remote tunnel end. I get "destination address unreachable" in this case.

I see that the tunnel is up according the DHCP log:
sixxs-aiccu: Succesfully retrieved tunnel information for Txxxxx
sixxs-aiccu: AICCU running as PID 52322

Any hint for me?

what do your system and firewall logs say ? also what does the interface status page say about AICCU ?

The system log shows only PPPoE negotiations with IPv4 parameters. Looks fine and I've no IPv4 problems.

But I found a deny for router multicasts on the LAN within the FW log:
deny  LAN  fe80::20d:b9ff:fe19:f598  ff02::2 ICMPV6

The IPv6 info from the interface status page:
IPv6 address     fe80::20d:b9ff:fe19:f598%ng0/64
IPv6 gateway    2001:6f8:1c00:71::1
AICCU address  fe80::20d:b9ff:fe19:f598%gif0/64
                          2001:6f8:1c00:71::2/128

2 I/O errors within 600 MByte outgoing packets. This value is in an acceptable range for me...

Ping output from the WAN I/F:
ping6: sendmsg: Network is down
ping6: sendmsg: Network is down
ping6: sendmsg: Network is down
PING6(56=40+8+8 bytes) 2001:6f8:1c00:71::2 --> 2a00:1450:8003::63
ping6: wrote ipv6.l.google.com 16 chars, ret=-1
ping6: wrote ipv6.l.google.com 16 chars, ret=-1
ping6: wrote ipv6.l.google.com 16 chars, ret=-1

--- ipv6.l.google.com ping6 statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss

Try ping you gateway 2001:6f8:1c00:71::1

Are you using ayiya tunnel type and is the tunnel server up ? Check the sixxs status page

Did a PWR off/on of the router and IPv6 was up again, but dropped the tunnel after some minutes.

Changed hardware and installed m0n0 v. 1.32. It's stable since a hour ago. :-)

Thx

I'm glad it's fixed, but not by regression ....

Did you import the 1.33 configuration, or recreate it ?

I exported the config from box-1 with v. 1.33.
Installed box-2 where 1.32 was already installed and imported the previously exported config.

The hardware for both boxes is identical. - PC Engines ALIX 2D13

We can do also add. tests if required
