Hello fellow m0n0wall users,

I have a domain hosted behind a m0n0wall installation. My smtp server is being blocked once in a while because dns and reverse dns don't match. If I write
$ host <global ip>
(in linux) from a client outside my net
I get
<global.ip>in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

How can I get these to match?

I use 1:1 NAT like
Interface    External IP    Internal IP    Description
WAN    <global ip>/32    <server ip>/32    Extra Ip

Thanks a lot in advance.

You need to contact your ISP to get a PTR record set up for your IP address on their DNS server.

Hi Manuel,

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm sorry - I didn't know I was that off topic. I now contacted my isp in stead :-)

Thanks a lot!
