Is there a way to load m0n0 on a tz-180/190?  I have both of them, and they are both retired, meaning that they were competitive upgraded, so their serial numbers have been deactivated by sonicwall.  So I was wondering if i could use them and load m0n0 on them

What are the specs of these tz-180 and tz-190 machines? Not knowing makes any reply you get more or less guessing.

I suppose there is a chance it could be made to work. It would depend on the CPU and ethernet adapters being supported by m0n0wall, having adequate or upgradeable to adequate RAM, having a compatible CF, DOM or HD interface, and being able to boot it to a state that would allow the initial configuration to be accomplished, or use another system to do that and them move the drive back to the TZ and then finish configuring via the web interface once that is reachable.

I have (limited) access to a tz-180 at work. It does have a console port, but no removable storage.  If you could find a way to flash the embedded image to the device, you may be able to get it to work.

The tz-180 has 5 LAN ports and 1 WAN port, wireless, plus an OPT port. I can't find any hard specs but it has a rated throughput of ~90Mbps.

Well, it looks like the proc is a Nitrox Soho 220 which is MIPS from what i can find.

As far as I can tell, m0n0wall (or even FreeBSD, which m0n0wall is based on) won't work on a MIPS processor.

You may be to put something like DD-WRT or OpenWRT on the sonicwall though.

Thats what I was afraid of....   DD-WRT is nice and all, I just like m0n0 better.  It just seems to feel I don't know, better.  That being the case, does anyone know of an alternative os for the sonicwall that will work?
