I would like to be able to assign WAN public IPs to clients inside the LAN using the LAN DHCP server.
Is this possible?

If the m0n0wall LAN interface has a public IP within a routed subnet, then you should be able to enable the DHCP server on the LAN interface and define the scope of the DHCP server.

When you say "routed subnet" are you referring to a static routed subnet of public IPs from our ISP?
If the answer to that is "yes" then those are on my WAN interface.
Can I route them to the LAN in monowall and then set up the LAN primary addresses with my public IP addresses?
The reason I would like to do that is so I can still apply rules if necessary.

How is your service provided? Is your interface to the service a router?
Exactly how is your m0n0wall WAN interface set up?
How many addresses are in your routed subnet?

Is your interface to the service a router?
- they are statically assigned by our ISP routed through another network. This other network is a provice wide network, a common platform through which we access our ISP, so all we do is connect to a switch belonging to the province wide network and they make sure the routing of our public IPs goes to the correct switch.
Exactly how is your m0n0wall WAN interface set up?
- We take one of the public IP subnets assigned to us by our ISP and configure the WAN adapter to something like xxx.xxx.185.1/24
How many addresses are in your routed subnet?
- It depends on the subnet, but most are /24. Not all subnets go through the one monowall router. We usually assign one block to one router through the WAN interface.
I was hoping to allow the computers connected to the LAN to receive their public IP via the LAN DHCP server. Then I can proceed to restrict by MAC, add rules, add shaping as necessary.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
