I am in love with m0n0wall! I use it for a range of purposes in our organization. It has all or most of the features I need in a router/firewall.

However, I would love to see a simpler edition, without dedicated LAN and WAN connections. Where I would configure NAT and firewall rules completely manually, on any connection.

I would like to be able to set dhcp on any connection. I would like to be able to set outbound NAT on any interface, etc.

Basically, I want a m0n0wall with only OPT interfaces, with the addition of being able to use dhcp addressing on any of them. Also, I would like to be able to set up a dhcp server on any interface (when I am using a static ip).

Any suggestions on how to modify m0n0wall to fit my purposes?

Regards, Bjorn
