I've been having a throughput problem for the last year on a Soekris net4801-48. Tried everything, checked that the BIOS was current, changed the modem in front from routed bridge to bridge mode, etc. Sites were loading up sluggishly. Meanwhile, the other net4801-48s that I have have been fine. The only difference was that the other boxes were on 1.32, the problem box was on 1.33.

I downgraded the problem box to 1.32 and the throughput problem seems to have gone away. I'm still testing to see if it is just my imagination, but right now, it feels as if there is a regression in 1.33 for the net4801-48.

What about the new 1.8 beta versions? Do they experience the same sluggishness?

Haven't dared go to the 1.8 betas since the firewalls are in production environments... I just downgraded to what I know worked to see if 1.33 was the problem, and have been happy so far.
