page fault using snapshot 01/15/2013

I'm unable to get through the boot process to install m0n0wall either from a CD drive or usb drive. I receive a page fault using generic-pc snapshot dated 01/15/2013.
My computer configuration:
Intel DQ77KB motherboard
Intel Core i3-3220T cpu
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) memory
SEAGATE 500GB HARD DRIVE
Wintec Filemate 4GB mSATA SSD
I disconnected each drive separately and also disconnected both drives together and always get the page fault. In addition I have tried using single memory module as well as different type of memory. I have not tried installing any other version which I do plan on soon.

Sorry, m0n0wall 1.8b is based on FreeBSD 8.3. Supported processors:
http://www.freebsd.org/releases/8.3R/hardware.html#PROC-AMD64
You could try disabling everything unnecessary in the bios.

I used the latest snapshot of pfsense and it worked fine. Aren't the latest pfsense snapshots based off of BSD 8.3 as well?

I have been unable to test any other version of m0n0wall at this point since I had a firmware upgrade disaster with my Intel motherboard (awaiting replacement). Also to be more specific, I was successfully using the 64 bit version of pfsense without any install issues. I plan to test the 32 bit version of pfsense once I receive a replacement motherboard.

New motherboard arrived and I'm surprised to say my hardware was not the problem.
I tested the latest snapshots starting from the most recent, down to where the snapshots start working
without
a page fault.
Builds from 1.8.1b521 (19-Oct-2012) through 1.8.1b536 (05-Jan-2013) don't work and I experience a page fault with the hardware I'm using.
Builds from 1.8.1b520 (18-Oct-2012) and below work fine. Even the 1.34 (12-Nov-2012) build in the 1.3 branch works.
So the page fault issue started in the 1.8 branch with build 1.8.1b521 (19-Oct-2012) and moving forward to the latest build.
Something very strange though. I built my own custom m0n0wall build using the latest m0n0wall source code which is 1.8.1b536 and it works perfectly. I made no changes to the source code except fixed the m0n0wall sixxs-aiccu.Makefile.patch which was failing to patch.
I have no explanation as to why my build works though. I tried looking through the 1.8 branch changlog, but there appears to be no dates listed at all corresponding to changes made. I'm just glad that I'm able to use m0n0wall with the hardware that I have.

I have the same page fault. In my case I have an AMD Sempron 145 with 4 GB RAM and a 4 GB CF card.
By the way: The 1.3 branch started well, but does not recognise the network cards (Intel e1000).

I replaced the RAM (2GB instead of 4GB), and it worked. Is there a problem with 4GB of RAM?

Obviously lowering the RAM amount had the desired effect
But even 2GB is excessive and that amount will never be utilized.
I believe that RAM beyond 128MB is ignored.

I loved the pc engines boxes, but there is a limit of 100 mbit on the nic ports, so I wanted to go 1 gbit and therefore I needed to use a normal pc. My ram is 2 or 4 gb, anything else I don't have with me. But 2 gbit is ok.
Just for no missunderstanding, 1 gbit I don't have on the wan, but between lan and dmz, and uploading content from lan to dmz took always a bit long with 100 mbit.
Now m0n0wall shows that I have on the lan and dmz port 1000 mbit, but copying from lan to dmz is not faster (10 mbyte a seccond). Any ideas how to have more speed on the lan->dmz?
P.S: As network card I use intel 4nic (should be a e1000) card.

Problem witch network card (100 instead of 1000 mbit) is solved, I had a problem with the switches between firewall and dmz/lan boxes (helped to turn off and on switches).
